      The goal The goal of the course is to acquaint the students with the physical principles of modern methods and techniques used in veterinary diagnostics and therapy, food processing, environmental protection and other fields relevant to veterinary medicine.
      The outcome At the conclusion of the course, the students will be able to describe the theory behind the fundamentals of measurements and the physical principles of biomedical instruments and will have the basic knowledge of modern instrumental methods used in veterinary diagnostics and therapy as well as other biomedical and biotechnological disciplines.
      Contents
      Contents of lectures Ultrasound diagnosis and therapy. Doppler techniques. Electrode and microelectrode techniques. Electrodiagnosis and electrotherapy. Thermodiagnosis and thermotherapy. Optical and electron microscopy. Applications of ultraviolet, infrared and laser radiation. Roentgen techniques. Detectors and dosimeters of ionising and non-ionising radiation. Food irradiation techniques. Fundamentals of environmental monitoring.
