    The goalIntroduction to theoretical and practical aspects of the pathology and treatment of ruminants and overcoming necessary skills, important for clinical practice with the emphasis on independent solving common problems in the area of clinical pathology and treatment of cattle, sheep and goats.
    The outcomeThe student needs to know etilogy and pathogenesis of diseases of ruminants covered by the program, understand the mechanisms of disease, be capable to perform clinical examination, to make a diagnosis and take treatment.

    Contents of lecturesDiseases of the oral cavity, pharynx and esophagus (3). Diseases of rumen-indigestion (3), subacute rumen acidosis (3), ruminitis and parakeratosis (3), rumen tympany (3) diaphragmatic hernia, omasal impaction (3). Diseases of abomasum (6), enteric disease, diarrhea in the neonatal period (3), post-operative ileus, peritonitis (3). Diseases of the liver and pancreas (3). Respiratory diseases (6). Diseases of the heart and blood vessels (3). Diseases of the blood and hematopoietic organ (3). Diseases of the urinary tract (3). Diseases of the central nervous system (6).     Contents of exercisesControl of health status of cows in pregnancy and lactation-body condition scoring, analysis of metabolic profile, blood and urine (10). Examination of the rumen and abomasum, rumenocentesis, laparotomy (5). Omentopexy and abomasopexy (5). Examination of the liver (5). Examination of the respiratory and cardiovascular systems (4).
